Natural Vs. Pharmaceutical

For thousands of years, humans have used food, spices, herbs, and other natural sources as treatment for various conditions, to help rebalance our systems.  It was only until 1942, that we began using antibiotics.  Most medical professionals will more likely than not, recommend a triple or quadruple therapy with antibiotics, with little to no consideration to alternative therapies or treatment.

Furthermore, it is uncertain whatever undesired after effects may remain post drug treatment, as little to no research seems to have been performed.  Please read the next two sections carefully, as they may help you in making a better choice for your future health.

Triple/Quadruple Therapies

Triple and Quadruple therapies are usually prescribed over a course of 7, 10, or 14 days (14 days being the most successful).  Triple therapy is a combination of two antibiotics, and a proton pump inhibitor (acid blocker). The quadruple therapy is similar but also includes bismuth, or bismuth subsalicylate, a thick pink liquid which also suppresses acid production.

Again, H-Pylori is an antibiotic resistant bacteria, so sometimes triple/quadruple therapy does not fully eradicate.  Furthermore, acid production is key for essential digestive functions, as well as proper vitamin absorption, which when compromised, can also cause issues. Those who haven't been cured from the triple therapy often move on to quadruple therapy, which sometimes also doesn't fully eradicate.

Despite supposed cure rates researched at around 70-75%, the number doesn't seem to match up to what has been experienced by members of our support group.  More likely a 50% cure rate, if even that.  But even more concerning, are the possible side effects and conditions, both short and long term, from using these therapies.

If anything, it would be advised that if when using these therapies, strongly consider using them in combination with other supplements, and also a modified diet to not only improve chances of eradication, but to lessen the chances of possible side effects and other conditions.

Natural Treatment

The first medicines used by modern humans were various foods, herbs, spices, etc., possibly used in excess or concentrated/extract forms, to assist in "rebalancing" homeostasis.

Despite still not being recognized by the FDA in the United States, many conclusive studies have been done on using these types of "medicines" to assist with various conditions, diseases, and ailments.  The case is the same for natural treatments when dealing with an H-Pylori overgrowth of infection.

Everything from Vitamin C to Manuka Honey, Mastic Gum, Turmeric, as well as many other options have been proven to inhibit growth, protect the stomach, and even outright kill H-Pylori.

Not only are these types of "medicines" usually tolerated well by most individuals, we have a history of using them for thousands of years.  It would make sense that the likelihood of possible side effects or other conditions, when used appropriately, would be far less as well.
